There are many things that you’ll need to consider before you buy your first motorcycle.

Buying your first bike can be intimidating. If you buy a bike that is not well-suited to you, your skill level and your needs, it could put you at a much higher risk for accidents. At Big Sleazy Inc., we not only put on the best bike show in New Orleans, we are also passionate about motorcycles, and we can help you find the best one for you. In our last blog, we went over a few things to consider before you buy your first bike. The following is a list of a couple more things to consider:

#4. How tall is the seat?

While you are straddling your new bike, you should be able to touch your feet to the ground. Another way to tell if the bike is too tall for you is to measure the distance of your leg between your groin and the bottom of your foot. If the seat of your bike is higher than that measurement, your bike is almost certainly too tall for you.

#5. Which type of bike is right for you?

There are many different types of bikes out there, and they are all good for different reasons. For instance, if you want something that will handle well and is responsive, a sport bike may be a great option. The downside to these bikes is that they aren’t comfortable for long distance rides. On the other hand, if you are planning on riding long distance, a more comfortable option would be a touring bike. These bikes are certainly comfortable, but they are big and heavy, which can make them a bad choice for new riders.
